We first CNC cut the chainrings out of thick, heat treated aluminum and anodize them. Afterwards, we run your engraving over the surface (seen to the right.)

2. Our dedication to quality.  Our chainrings start with strong, heat treated aluminum, and are CNC machined to hairbreadth precision and anodized.  This provides a smooth and consistent feel to the drivetrain.  Power is transferred as efficiently as possible.  The bike will jump when you slam the pedal.

3. Our design.  The mechanical design was done by a mechanical engineer from MIT, working with local riders to perfect the design.  The link engagement surfaces are CNC milled instead of turned (like our competitors' chainrings) resulting in a completely smooth surface.  CNC turned chainrings have little microscopic "grooves" that scrape against the sides of the link as it engages, resulting in frictional losses and noise production.  In addition, the pressure angle of the teeth is designed to be 15 degrees, which results in very little slippage of the chain, and a very solid loading response.  It also promotes longer chain life.  The chainring was not designed behind a desk; it was designed in conjunction with people who actually ride bicycles for a living, and is a design that many fixed-gear messengers prefer.
