 Every chainring that we sell comes with the following features: 

1. A one-of-a-kind unique aesthetic, designed by YOU.  See our DESIGN page.  In addition, you can see a design come to life in the gallery.

2. A high quality product.  Our chainrings start with strong, heat treated aluminum, and are CNC machined and anodized.  The CNC machining, seen to the right, is incredibly precise.  This provides a smooth and consistent feel to the drivetrain.  Power is transferred as efficiently as possible.  The bike will jump when you slam the pedal.

3. A novel and well formulated design.  The mechanical design was done by a mechanical engineer from MIT, working with local riders to perfect the design.  The link engagement surfaces are CNC milled instead of turned; resulting in a completely smooth surface.  CNC turned chainrings have little microscopic "grooves" that scrape against the sides of the link as it engages, resulting in frictional losses and noise production.  In addition, the pressure angle of the teeth is designed to be 15 degrees, which results in very little slippage of the chain, and a very solid loading response.  It also promotes longer chain life.  The chainring was not designed behind a desk; it was designed in conjunction with people who actually ride bicycles for a living.  Thus, it is a design that many fixed-gear messengers prefer.
