Q: What size chainring do you sell?
A: We sell two chainring configurations:
48 tooth, 130 mm BCD, 3/32" or 1/8" chain (STANDARD SIZE)
49 tooth, 144 mm BCD, 1/8" chain (TRACK SIZE)
Q: Why don't you sell other sizes of chainring?
A: Because its a personalized product, it becomes incredibly complex to have different teeth counts. If, for example, we offered a 44T chainring, the blank image of the chainring would be a different size. Thus, to simplify matters, we went with the two most popular tooth counts. If you want to "gear-up" or "gear-down" your fixie, simply re-install a different size rear cog. For street riding, 49/17 and 49/18 are very common. In more hilled cities, 46/17 is common, but the gear ratio is nearly identical to 49/18 (2.72 vs. 2.71), and both wheels exhibit good equal-wear properties for skidding.
Q: The flash creator is acting strangely, didn't show up, or is otherwise non-functional.
A: The editor should be 100% functional with current web browsers (Safari, Firefox, IE, Chrome), with the newest flash plug-in. Please go to Adobe's site to download the latest flash player by clicking HERE.
Q: How do I upload my own designs to the editing tool?
A: To use your own hand-drawn designs, follow this process. Draw it with a thin, dark pen on white paper. Scan the design onto your computer. You will need to invert the colors - on Windows, use MS Paint, which offers color inversion in the editing toolbar. On a Mac, use "Preview." Open the "Edit Colors" toolbar, and reverse the black and white slider bars. At this point, you can open up the editor and upload it to the site. See the tutorial for details.
Q: What is your refund/warranty policy?
A: We are so sure that you will love our products that we offer a 125% money-back guarantee! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, you may return the chainring for a full refund, within 2 weeks of chainring receipt. Upon return, we will refund 125% of the purchase price. In addition, we offer a 1-year warranty on craftsmanship.
Q: Can I send my fixie sprocket to Sessions Sprockets to be machined, and then have it mailed it back to me?
A: No, sorry... For many reasons, that's very time consuming for us to do. Besides the hassle of shipping and the associated issues, there is no guarantee that your particular chain ring will fit on our fixtures.
Q: How do your sprockets compare to others on the market?
A: In terms of machining precision, materials, and anodized finish, Sessions Sprockets compare to the highest end chainrings on the market. As stated on the "About the chainrings" page, the radial runout tolerance is 0.002". What is not comparable is the ability to personalize them!
Q: Can I put this sprocket on a bicycle with a derailleur?
A: No, sorry. These are fixed-gear rings, and they will not function whatsoever on a standard bicycle unless you plan to be unable to switch gears, and you have a 1/8" chain on hand (most standard chains are 3/32")
